Come for a month, you'll want to stay longer. Madeira's beautiful all year round.
our home
Banana House is the always-on Madeira home of Casa Basilico. It runs year-round, one-month minimum, no group calendar, no waiting for a chapter to start or end. Pick a month, move in, cook with us.
Most people book one month. Most people stay longer. We're used to it.
The house
A huge kitchen with an ocean view, opening straight onto the balcony. That's the heart of the house, and where the magic happens. Long cooking nights. Cute mornings with brunch on the balcony. Slow afternoons that stretch into dinner without anyone noticing.
The rooms
Penne, Rigatoni, Fusilli, Orecchiette, Linguine, Bucatini. Each room comes with a desk, a real bed, good blankets, and the view you came for.

What to expect
We let you actually focus during the day, so your manager doesn't kick you out of your job. When the laptops close, pasta, wine, and sunsets take over. Weekends, the island is the boss.
Mornings are for work. Fast Wi-Fi in every room, desks that don't wobble, a coworking corner on the terrace, and another one downtown if you need a change of scene. We keep the house quiet when it needs to be quiet. No one's going to start a tomato-pulping session at 10am, promise.
There's always a community manager in the house. Casa Basilico spirit, top tier. Cooks, organizes, throws parties, drags people out for sunset drinks, knows where to get the good fish. They know the island, they know the town, and they know which restaurant is actually open on a Tuesday. You don't have to plan a thing.
We know Madeira better than our own hometowns by now. Every spot, every viewpoint, every black-sand beach nobody talks about. Hikes, road trips, swims, levada walks, lazy lunches in mountain villages. Madeira is one of those places where you can come back five times and still find something new. We'll show you.

Why Ponta do Sol, not Funchal
Ponta do Sol is small, sunny, and weirdly magical. We know the baker, the barista, the surf guy, the lady at the fish market. Everything is walking distance. The supermarket, the pier, the cafés, the cowork.
After work, people jump off the pier. There's a free coworking space in town. There's an actual community of nomads here, with events almost every night of the week if you want them.
And the weather: Madeira has a thing called microclimates, which is a fancy way of saying every village has different weather. Ponta do Sol drew the long straw. It's the warmest, sunniest spot on the island. That's not us being dramatic, that's just the geography.
The bigger family
A pop-up coliving brand that's hosted 180+ remote workers across Tarifa, Las Palmas, Madeira and Pipa. Same cooking, same big table, same idea. Banana House is where it stays put all year.
