Stays & booking

Banana House is normally designed around stays of one month or longer.
No. The summer chapter is a fixed cohort with set dates. Banana House runs year-round, subject to live room availability and the booking terms. Same team, no cohort calendar.
You book through the Casa Basilico join flow. Pick your room and month, pay securely online, and you're set. No deposit haggling or cash at the door.

What's included

Your furnished room, utilities, 200+ Mbps fibre and work setup, linens and towels, cleaning, the shared kitchen, community support, and organised opportunities to cook, eat, and explore together. Groceries, restaurant meals, travel, insurance, personal expenses, paid excursions, and optional coworking are not included.
Yes. Linens and towels are provided.
Washing machine, yes. Dryer, no. You won't miss it. The island climate and the balconies dry everything in a few sunny hours.
Yes. The house has 200+ Mbps fibre, a real desk and chair in every room, and additional work areas. Cowork Ponta do Sol is nearby, optional, and not included in the room rate.

Getting here & living here

You can rent a car, use a licensed taxi or ride-hailing service, or combine the airport bus with onward public transport. Read the current airport-to-Ponta do Sol guide before travelling.
A light rain jacket (Madeira weather is moody and wonderful), proper hiking shoes for the levadas, a swimsuit for the sea, and one warm sweater for the evenings. The rest you can buy five minutes downhill.
Not for daily life in the village. A car does make independent hikes and cross-island days easier. Public transport, tours, taxis, and shared plans can cover some trips, but they require more planning.
We organise opportunities to cook and eat together, and joining is optional. The organisation is included; groceries and restaurant meals are not.
